Very hard to find the Hobbs-Brockunier Blackberry compote with the lid! There is opalescent fire when you hold it up to the light. 2 tiny splits on the base as photographed.
Tiny flake on the base. Rim of compote has some discoloration - might be removed with mild abrasive cleanser but I have not attempted. These imperfections are to be expected in a piece of Early American Pressed Glass EAPG from the 1880s! There is a wafer ring used in the glassmaking process to attach the top to the bottom.
There was a company that manufactured pieces in the 1920s/30s using the same Hobbs-Brockunier molds. The blackberry knob on the lid is stunning. Measures approximately 10 high from base to top of knob.
