Tall Antique White Milk Glass Lustre Vase Candle Crystal Drops Snake Twist Stem

  

On offer is this large, antique white milk glass lustre vase. Hand enamelled round cartouches alternating with flowers and a geometric leaf like pattern and gilt holly sit under a scalloped edged top. A garland band of flowers and black/green leaves then sits just above the crystal drops. An unusual snake/twist on the stem. One row of 8 cut crystal drops.

Ground pontil on the base. It stands 32.1cm height. Top diameter of 15.5cm. Drops are approx 16cm in length. Raw unpackaged weight of over 1.323kg.

There is a small piece of the snake/twist on the stem which is missing (see last photo), otherwise the lustre itself is chip, crack, restoration free. One of the wires from the lustre to hang the drop on is missing but the drop does sit fine directly into the hole - you could replace the wire if desired. There are some knocks and chips to the original cut crystal drops - but are a reasonably common cut pattern should you wish to replace. The interior has a metal/brass piece on the hole down to the stem - not sure to what purpose.
