Very hard to find the Hobbs-Brockunier Blackberry compote with the lid! There is opalescent fire when you hold it up to the light. 2 tiny splits on the base as photographed.
Tiny flake on the base. Rim of compote has some discoloration - might be removed with mild abrasive cleanser but I have not attempted. These imperfections are to be expected in a piece of Early American Pressed Glass EAPG from the 1880s! There is a wafer ring used in the glassmaking process to attach the top to the bottom.
There was a company that manufactured pieces in the 1920s/30s using the same Hobbs-Brockunier molds. The blackberry knob on the lid is stunning. Measures approximately 10 high from base to top of knob. The item "HOBBS BROCKUNIER EAPG BLACKBERRY WHITE MILK GLASS Covered Compote Rare" is in sale since Tuesday, August 14, 2018.
