Old Antique Large 1889 ATTERBURY Milk Glass FOX Figural COVERED DISH Lace Edge

  
Presented for your consideration is this neat antique covered dish. The dish is made entirely of milk glass and was made by the Atterbury Glass Company in Pittsburgh. Atterbury was in business from 1859 to 1902. The base of the dish has a simplistic design with a lace top edge. The lid of the dish has a wide rib design around the bottom edge with a fox laying on top of the lid. The fox has intricate detailing that includes pointed ears, fur texture and a pointed nose with molded eyes. The lid fits nicely on the base. The underside of the lid is marked with Pat'd Aug. 6, 1889 in raised lettering. Guaranteed to be antique and all original. This beautiful covered dish would make a great addition to any art or milk glass collection!

One side of the base has a small brown mark on one side, near the bottom. There is a very small scuff mark on the opposite side of the base, also near the bottom. A very small surface chip is in one section of the lace trim.

Light straw marks are visible on the lace and one is visible on the fox's back. Overall in VERY GOOD condition. Please refer to the photos for the best details. Measures 7 3/4" wide, 5 3/4" deep and 6 5/8 tall.
