A Large Antique French Milk Glass Ceiling Light Moulded Glass Pendant with Original Gallery and Chains. This Pendant drop light has a heavy moulded milk glass shade with ornate moulded decorations in its faceted design, the shade has a large ornate finial at its base. The lampshade is held in place by its original heavy brass three screw gallery which has three ornate floral ornaments which cover the hanging points. From the hanging points the light is suspended to a matching mid point rose by three length's of original ring and rare "hinged" square chain. The mid point rose has a small hanging eye which carries a length on non original ornate chain which in turn is hung from a non original brass hooked ceiling rose. The light has been rebuilt with some modern components and has a modern earthed brass BC lamp holder, a modern cord grip and a length of earthed 3 core wiring. The light also has wiring protection fitted.

The light produces a lovely even lighting effect and provides great looking silhouettes from the rose and chains. Age is late 19th to very early 20th Century. Shade max Diameter is 21 Cm - Pendant height is 67 Cm to Hanging Eye of mid point rose - Max drop is 106 Cm Long.

Drop can reduced by removing chain links. Please see my images for the best description. Condition is very good for its age.

Please note the following points.... The Glass shade is good and free of major damage there are a few small chips to the fitting rim which are hidden in use, the brass fittings have tarnish and age marks which add to the great Antique feel of this very early french light fitting. Small signs of life and age with manufacturing marks in the glass. The metal fittings are good with signs of life and great age.
