This is a wonderful antique white milk glass covered box manufactured by the Atterbury Glass Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the 19th century. The lid features a figural bunny rabbit with amethyst glass eyes.
Patent information on the underside of the base: Pat'd March -9. Though unsigned, given the style and the patent date, we believe this box is attributable to Atterbury. In overall very good condition.
Scattered flakes to the rim of the lid. Fleabites to the rim of the base.
This condition is consistent with age and use. Measures 4 1/4" to the top of the rabbit and 2" to the top of the base. The base measures 9 7/8" x 4 1/8".
