Antique Large Milk Glass Water Pitcher Owl Glass Eyes Late 19th Century. Milk Glass that is opaque with some translucence. Most likely Bryce, Higbee & Co.
Has flowers, cherries and leaves on sides. The glass eyes may have been reattached or replaced at some time. Antique trader reference stated " by Bryce, Higbee and others from the 4th quarter of 19th century with the measurements at 7 3/8" 4 5/8 D rim. From Bleknaps Milk Glass Book pp 90, 91. Howerver; experts feel the book is riddled with errors. A reference we have not seen from Ferson's book "Yesterday's Milk Glass Today, " states this may be 1891 Challinor Taylor Catalog. Others state it is English Aterly. Also a reference to a Bryce, Higbee & Co.7 1/4 total width from nose to handle edge. 4 3/4 Rim Diameter of bowl. Good antique condition, not mint. 3 chips at base, light nicks on rim as seen by little black mark, see pictures. One mark inside appears to be straw mark from manufacturing not crack.
