1870-80'S WHITE MILK GLASS OPALINE RABBIT CHICKEN FIGURAL HANGING MATCHHOLDER. 1870-80's'Rabbit & Chicken' white opaline milk glass figural hanging matchholder. Please refer to Thuro book 1 page 36 for more information on these early lamp appurtenances. The matchholder has original early chain to hang from an early lamp or wall-mount sconce. Fiery opalescent opaline milk glass, embossed in the glass with a chicken on the front, and rabbit on the other side; original pink and yellow highlights intact. Embossed ribbed match striker base. Approximately 4 1/8" long, and approximately 2 7/8" wide at the top. Undamaged with no chips cracks or breaks. Often d ifficult-to-find hanging matchholder for the early lamp enthusiast.
