ORIGINAL VINTAGE 1930's-1940's SHELL GASOLINE CAST MILK GLASS GAS PUMP GLOBE - An amazing survivor from the golden age of transportation! These globes were originally formed from a casting, and the paint inside the embossed "SHELL" letters was baked on. Over the years, the original paint deteriorated from being outside and exposed to the elements, and someone repainted a bit to make sure the consumer could still see the advertising. The secondary paint does appear to be old, so this was probably not a recent attempt at restoration. This piece might benefit from a proper restoration of the paint.

We see normal chipping and wear in the base area. We also see some signs of discoloration near the base, which is normal from age and use.

We can see where it was embossed with the Made in the USA mark. Please see the photos to evaluate the condition further. It measures approximately 17" tall by 18" wide by just under 6 in diameter at the base rim. This is simply a neat piece of vintage petroliana for your collection!
